Barcelona, June 16, 2025 – The multinational fragrance house Eurofragance brings together heritage, art and perfume in its collaboration on “Essència Palau,” a new sensorial experience that invites visitors to rediscover the Palau de la Música Catalana through smell, sight and touch. Developed in partnership with the Palau, this initiative transforms the visit to this iconic modernist Catalan concert hall into an emotional and multisensorial journey through ten fragrance creations inspired by the building’s rich architecture and design.
Among the perfume creations are compositions such as Barcelona 1908, with leathery notes to evoke the opulence of fur coats of bygone times; Dianthus, an intense and spicy carnation accord; Liliopsida, a breath of pure lily; Flor Secreta, a bath of rose petals in their fullest bloom; Geraniales, a vibrant burst of geranium with flashes of menthol and citrus; Campanula, a whisper of bellflowers with green and musky nuances; Μοῦσαι, an immersion in a forest; and Hibiscus, a floral explosion with a suspicion of tropical fruits. These ten olfactive creations accompany the visitor to offer them an enhanced sensorial experience through a novel angle.
The creative minds behind these scented translations of the Palau’s architecture are Angéline Leporini and Pelegrí Granel, Senior Perfumers at Eurofragance, along with Rebeca Cernadas, Senior Fragrance Development Manager & Global Lead of Creative Initiatives at Eurofragance, who oriented the conceptual and olfactive development of the project. Regarding the olfactive creations, Angéline Leporini explains: “Each fragrance evokes characteristic scents and sensations of nature, reflecting what Domènech i Montaner captured through the architecture and design of the Palau de la Música Catalana. With our creations, we wanted to revive that connection to nature.” Pelegrí Granel adds: “It has been a true honor to translate through scents such an iconic architectural work in Catalan culture. It’s a way of giving back to the Palau some of the inspiration it gives us as creators.”
From an olfactive perspective, the fragrances reinterpret the singular elements of the building and its modernist flair through a contemporary approach. Rebeca Cernadas states: “Each perfume tells a different story, such as the luxury of the bourgeoisie in Barcelona 1908, the floral majesty of Batalla de les Flors or the softness and warmth of the sun in Aestas. We’ve worked with current olfactive codes—from solar and gourmand accords to clean and woody notes—to connect the Palau’s modernist architecture with the most innovative and current trends in perfumery.”
“Essència Palau” is the third collaborative project between Eurofragance and the Palau de la Música Catalana and is open to all visitors interested in the guided tour until June 22. The “Essència Palau” experience will be reiterated next spring when the flowers come into bloom once again.
